Illustrations, Fashion & Titles

I found a stunning piece of art on a blog that sent me to the artist's sites (flikr, byroglyphics). British illustrator and designer, Russ Mills created a series of evocative images in 2008 that capture movement and emotion like few images I've seen. This one is called Aeonium, and it's what led me to this artist.

On a somewhat unrelated side, I've been looking through this book on Fashion that I got from Barnes & Noble like a couple of years ago and barely browsed through even though it's almost entirely photos. Since I started going through it page by page I realize how many beautiful clothes were made in past centuries. The book comprises images of the Kyoto Costume Institute's collection. The photos in the book are far superior to their online gallery, but the pieces themselves are still beautifully constructed.

Anonymous, Walking Dress, c. 1884

And just because, I'm including this stunning title sequence for "The Visual Language of Herbert Matter" created by leftchannel. I first found this on The Art of the Title Sequence and still consider it to be a very beautiful piece.
